August is Civic Health Month
/"Civic Health” is essential for a better Wisconsin.
This month we celebrate Civic Health. LWVWI is a proud partner in the Civic Health of Wisconsin initiative dedicated to strengthening current civic health efforts around Wisconsin, to spur innovation and foster more connected and engaged communities. The initiative includes a steering committee and broader network of nonpartisan organizations involved in civic health efforts spanning democratic participation, volunteerism, and community connection, among other issues. We define “Civic Health” to mean individual and collective engagement for communities to define and address public problems and work toward conditions which allow all communities and Wisconsinites to truly thrive, and democracy in which all can participate. For more information see Wisconsin’s first Civic Health report.
Civic Health Month is a nationwide initiative, learn more about how you can get involved here.
