Community Education Forum ~ Demystifying Transgender Healthcare
Tuesday, September 12, 6:30-8pm at The Washburn Club, 328 Bayfield St.
Dr. Kate Stolp will give the presentation followed by a panel discussion that includes two transgender individuals, a pastor, a counselor, and the parent of a transgender child. This Community Education forum is a collaboration of LWV-ABC and PFLAG Washburn-Chequamegon Bay.

We are proud to present guest speaker Former State Senator, Janet Bewley who will speak to us about "Finding Hope in the Worst of Times," as we learn to engage with all people, no matter our differences.
Board and Committee News
Allison Lutterman is new to our Board and chair of the Voter Services Committee. This committee understands that voter information and participation is necessary for a healthy democracy. They provide voter information through candidate forums, outreach at community events, and voter registration drives. They have tabled at summer events and are gearing up for National Voter’s Registration Day September 19th, focusing on Youth Vote.
Joan Elias continues as our Natural Resources Advocacy Committee Chair. This committee advocates for protection and preservation of natural resources including land, water and air. Protecting and improving water quality, collaborating with Tribes and other partners on Shutting Down Enbridge’s Line-5, Clean Water Now and other projects. The committee’s work is guided by LWV local, state and national positions.
Diane Koosed has taken on the role of Membership Chair. The Membership Committee addresses all membership issues and is currently planning our Fall Meeting, September 27th.
Anne Chartier is Chair of our newly formed Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the League’s current and future success in engaging all individuals, households, communities, and policy makers in creating a more perfect democracy.
