Voter Services Committee in Washburn Library

Committee meeting of Voter Services Committee members.

Open to everyone to participate in, whether you are a league member or not.

Dear Members and Friends,

We are gearing up for the April 7 election!

There will be a Voter Services meeting tomorrow in the Washburn Library at 4 pm. The Hayward group met on the 9th. If you would like to participate and want a copy of the agenda please contact Margie Braun at margiebrown555@gmail.com.

Provided both candidates for contested positions are able to participate, we will hold forums for at least the Washburn Mayoral race and the Ashland County Board Supervisors. We are looking for Leaguers to help with the candidate forums. The preferred practice is for members who don’t live in the community to volunteer to run them. We plan to hold the forums at the end of March, or by April 2. Please let me know if you are able to help.

Bayfield County Administrator Mark Abeles-Allison informed me that Bayfield County frequently has openings on various committees and boards. If you are a resident and would like to be considered, please submit an online application through the web link https://www.bayfieldcounty.org/628/Employment

The last day to register online before the spring election is next Wednesday, March 18. One can do so at myvote.wi.gov where it is also possible to see the ballot and confirm your polling place. Twenty days prior to the election we have to register in person with the corresponding municipal clerk, or at the polls on election day.

Thank you all for Making Democracy Work®
